Undefeated Champions 3 years in a row of the Queensland Murri Carnival and Mackay
All Blacks Carnival. Murri Gummaz is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Rugby League team founded to create opportunities for our First Nations women from across Australia who live in remote
and urban areas.
After our success of the Gummaz Teams in last 3 years of entering into Tournaments in SEQ and NQ, we are again entering 3 x junior teams into the Queensland Murri Carnival which is held annually in
Brisbane, also a Women’s All Blacks Carnival in Townsville.
2025 will be a biggest fundraising year for out Rugby League as we have been invited to and nominated for the below Carnivals this year,
- Samoa NRL have invited us to compete in Samoa (2x teams of Junior & Women’s to Samoa)
- Queensland Murri Carnival (1x U12 girls, 1x u16 girls & 1x u18 girls); and
- Townsville All Blacks Carnival (Women’s)
With Sponsorship, in the past we have been successful in entering teams and winning these carnivals, competing and building a family a community full of love, sportsmanship, respect and great role
models for our younger generation.
With your support, we can continue to carry that legacy and mentor the girls because it is not just football for us it is about educating our girls on,
- Domestic violence
- Healthy relationships
- Suicide and how to prevent it in our families and communities
- Mental health & grief how we begin and support one another on our healing journeys.
We will use all funds raised to get our girls across to Samoa - flights accommodation & all travel related costs for 11 days in Samoa.
