Muscle Up World Record Fundraiser: Gary Sinise Foundation
Tax deductible
I will be attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the greatest number of muscle ups done in 24 hours on Sunday, April 13th. I am taking on this challenge to raise awareness and money in support of wounded and disabled veterans through the Gary Sinise Foundation. If helping wounded veterans is a cause that is important to you, then please donate. 100% of the proceeds from this donation page will be going directly to the Gary Sinise Foundation.
If you would also like to tune in to watch my record attempt on April 13th, I will be livestreaming the entire event on YouTube. Use the link below:
My Story:
Before I graduated college, I strongly considered trying to join the military and becoming a Navy SEAL. I ultimately chose to pursue a PhD in physics at Duke instead; however, I still took away a sense of respect and admiration for the discipline, strength, and sacrifice that is developed in Navy SEALS and other members of the military. I wanted to find a way to honor these men and women who have served and help those who have served with an activity that embodies these traits. To this end, I decided that I could use my skills in calisthenics, specifically doing muscle ups, to bring awareness to and help support a good charity that helps veterans and makes a positive difference specifically for veterans who lost the full use of their bodies during their service.
The Gary Sinise Foundation is a foundation that does exactly that. Through their RISE programs, they help veterans who have lost one of the most basic functions that we all take for granted, our mobility, and help restore them to more functional lives with smart assisted homes, mobility vans, and other helpful devices.
