Hi, my name is Victor! I’m four months old and live in Belgium with my parents Kristoffel and Sigrid and my sister Laura. I adore her. I was born a fighter (and a cutie pie, I know!) with strong muscle force but was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) a couple of weeks ago. SMA is a disease that robs people of physical strength by affecting the motor nerve cells in the spinal cord, taking away the ability to walk, eat, or even breathe. It is the number one genetic cause of death for infants. There is a new treatment that could help me regain my superpowers. This treatment has a high success rate of stopping the progression of SMA. I only need one injection! Unfortunately, it is the most expensive injection in the world. The 1-time only treatment costs 2.1 million (US) dollars.
