Domestic Muscovy duck desperately needs surgery!

Meet Walter Quackmore. He is a beautiful, happy, playful and friendly 3 month-old Muscovy duck. He recently broke his left leg in an accidental fall and due to the break’s location being so close to his knee joint, the avian veterinarian specialist says splinting is not an option and Walter must receive an extremely expensive emergency surgery in order to even survive.
Walter Quackmore and his darling little sister Wendy Waddleton had a rough start in life when at only a week old their mother was killed by a speeding automobile. I’ve fed, watered, loved and cared for both of them ever since. They have quickly become beloved members of my family and I only want the best for them to live long happy lives together. I have great expectations for Walter and Wendy as domesticated ducks can live as long as 10 to 15 years. Walter has a long life ahead of him if he can only receive the care he needs now.
I am a disabled veteran living on a fixed social security income. I’ve exhausted my savings for the emergency room and follow up visit already totaling over $1,300. The Brandon Emergency Room failed to diagnose him correctly and said his injury was soft tissue damage only. Upon a follow up visit 3 days later in Clearwater, additional x-ray views revealed the severity of his condition being a full break in his upper left leg.
Walter’s surgery to repair his leg and allow him to live and function as a normal, happy duck, is estimated to cost between $4,270 to $5,149. He’s currently spending his time waiting for surgery confined to a small metal crate to limit his movement and activity. He’s eating and drinking normally and you can tell he just wants to back together with his sister Wendy who misses sleeping cuddled next to him.
PLEASE help me, help Walter. There’s nothing I want more than to see him waddling, quacking and playing happily again in his spacious backyard and inside wearing his cute little diapers.
Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help, compassion and love to benefit Walter Quackmore.
