Music By Black Composers

"What we play is life."
-Louis Armstrong

Music is one of the tapestries by which humanity tells its stories.  From Congo Square in New Orleans to CBGB in New York, personal expression and culture has always been socialized to a soundtrack.

As contemporary electronic musicians ourselves, we are raising money for charity to honor the rich and diverse musical roots that came before.

Music by Black Composers (MBC) is a project of the Rachel Barton Pine Foundation, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. MBC is dedicated to fostering diversity in classical music by helping children learn the rich history of music by Black composers. Through their pedagogical supplements to current instrumental training books, they are not only helping Black children find a sense of belonging in classical music through the reclamation of this forgotten history, they are also helping to inspire the next generation to begin musical training and thereby help transform the face of classical music.

Jack Stonebraker and Joseph Schooler will personally match up to the first $400 in donations.

Thank you for your generosity and support of the arts.
