Music in the Streets - Our first event

Welcome to our first-ever fundraising attempt!

Jeanine and I (Bea) are launching DEIS UK in August. Our name is short for Development through Education, Information, and Support. We are not-for-profit, and our goal is to work alongside young people to create projects for other young people and the community.

Our first project as DEIS UK will be Music in the Streets between the 24th and 27th of August 2021.

What is this about?

• Take 10 young musicians (aged 16-24)
• Add 3 days of workshops for songwriting, 'bandwork' (teamwork, but for bands) and live performance
• Top it with a live concert on the streets of Greenwich
• Serve with some music production support for the full experience

And there you have it!

We are ready to rock and roll. There is only one tiny thing we're missing - resources. We need to hire a venue for the workshops, possibly a PA system as well, it would be lovely to provide some refreshments to our participants, and if there's anything left after we can use that to cover for future events or admin.

Our goal is to raise 1K by mid-August.

Little by little, we believe we can achieve anything!

Also, if you're not in a position to help us through donations, but you still want to get involved, don't hesitate to reach out to us. Surely we can find a way to work together.

This is the first time we do this, so we don't really know what to expect. As two young women starting out in the world of not-for-profits, we hope that we can rely on the people around us to land a hand when we need it. Of course, as we grow we will ask for less and give more. We are here to help and our motto is 'Keep on going'. <3

Support our event and you will be offering 10 young musicians an opportunity to develop their skills and follow their dream. And you will ensure that 2 young women don't lose their hope in humanity.
