Musicians in Exile fundraiser
Bringing asylum seeking and refugee musicians together to share their cultures, Musicians in Exile has been going since 2018. We meet in Glasgow weekly, a new family sharing our homelands' music with each other and integrating with our communities. This year we performed at The Opening Fanfare of the Edinburgh International Festival, the Barrowlands fundraiser for Scottish Refugee Council and Refugee Festival Scotland. We also pop up in small ensembles in Glasgow's parks and community halls. Right now, we represent cultures from Syria, Iran, Turkey, El Salvador, Ukraine, Uganda and Congo.
In today's tougher funding climate, The Glasgow Barons need your help to run the group and celebrate the world's cultures, right here in Scotland. This includes rehearsal space rent, instruments, travel and professional support.
