Musick Family

Dear friends, family and kind-hearted strangers,

My name is Casey Clapp, my best friend is Alexis Musick, and this weekend her family experienced a trauma that no one should have to go through.

Friday night the Musick family (Mike, Kristen, Alexis and her two boys) were enjoying family time at The Kansas State Fair. Around 10:30pm tragedy struck. As the family was walking to their car, Mike, Kristen and one of their grandson’s were struck by a car going 40mph. Luckily Kristen pushed her grandson out of the way and he walked away with only a concussion and some scrapes.

As for Mike and Kristen, they are currently in ICU at Wesley Medical Center. They both have several serious injuries that are going to take a lot of time and medical help to heal.

Mike and Kristen have 4 children, Trent, Danielle, Alexis, and Lauren. The three girls live in Hutchinson, and Trent, Illinois. Trent drove up here the very next day to be with his family. They are taking turns staying overnight in the hospital with their parents. Alexis and Danielle both have younger children and have been driving back and forth each day to take care of their families in Hutchinson.

Not only is the family going to need help with the medical bills that will soon be piling up, but the cost of going back and forth to Wichita, and meals. While staying strong for their parents, the emotional toll on the family is immeasurable. We are starting a GoFundMe campaign to help alleviate the financial burden that comes with these extended hospital stays, medical treatments and travel costs for the family. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant impact for the Musick family.
