Muslim School in Haiti: Ecole Primaire Al Islam

I am Brother Harith Abdulghaffar with an important announcement on behalf of other concerned Muslims here in New York City and abroad:

This is an urgent request for support of a Muslim School in Haiti: Ecole Primaire Al Islam Al Madrasa. They cater children from 6 to 15 years old. It was established in 2014.

Due to circumstances that occurred recently, the funding for the upcoming year and beyond has been exhausted. An opportunity to contribute in fulfilling a trust, which is to provide Islamic education that adheres to the Qur'an and Sunnah. May Allah reward you for your duas, contributions and overall support.

asSalamu walaykum rahmatullahi wa barakatuh my brothers and sisters in Islam.

We the members of the Muslim Community of Croix des Bouquets, one of the cities of Port-au-Prince, capital of Haiti. From this Community we have UFMAND an Association of Muslim Women of An-Nour, an association that was born after the earthquake of January 12, 2010. founded by Maryam Aminah the wife of Imam Ahmad Abdullah Antoine.

My brother our Muslim Community and the association of Muslim Women of An-Nour, we are pleased in the name of Allaah to ask for your assistance in our educational programs with our destitute and orphaned children that our Community has in charge for the propagation of Islam in Haiti. We have a small elementary school, which our financial means, do not allow us to continue with the school, and we do not want to leave the education program in order to make Islam better known on the soil of Haiti.

We have 3 preschool classes and 6 basic classes. It is a free school for orphans and children of poor parents, and now we have no means to pay the teachers and continue the work of Islamic education to these children. The staff of the school are: we have two members of management and nine teachers and a housekeeper. We need a sum of $900 per month to pay the teachers or the staff of the school; we need in total for the academic year of 2022-2023 the sum of 9000, which will start on September 05, 2022 and will end on June 2023.

The school has reopened, Al Hamdulillah! The education is FREE. Most of the students are orphans, as there is an orphanage in the community, who are receiving Islamic education.  The grades are from 3 years of age preschool all the way to the 5th grade.   The staff is made up of 2 members of administration, 9 teachers and a dedicated individual to clean and maintain the school.  They are obviously not getting paid much at all right now.  They are providing services out of love, passion and compassion.  Their wish is to acquire $900 a month or $9,000 a year to pay all of the staff, which is not much at all.  This would be more because they also wish to provide 3 hot meals a day to feed the students.
