The plan is to support an established orphanage called Chrystal http://chrystalchildrenscenter.com
and potentially a small school.
My friend Mark has recently been volunteering in Uganda and has worked with both of these charities.
This for me is the best place for this money to go to.
please,read the children's stories below

Thanks everyone for your help. Alexandra

IMAN KERA, 3

Iman lost his father when he was at the age of 1 and was left in the hands of his 22-year old single mother, who had no source of income. He is currently healthy.

MURUNGI KERREN, 2

Murungi’s mother and father were still in school when she was conceived. The father disappeared. Her mother neglected and abandoned her, so Murungi was previously left in the care of her grandma. Unfortunately, she was unable to provide for her, so she turned to Chrystal Children’s Center for help. Murungi is currently suffering from a skin infection. We are taking care of it.

SYLVIA NAMULINDWA

OWEN LUBEGA, 3

Owen’s parents separated before he was born. His mother was a school girl when she got pregnant and the father abandoned her shortly after he found out, refusing to take any responsibility. To make matters worse, when Owen’s grandparents received the news of the pregnancy they chased his mom out of the house. She was homeless when she gave birth to him and due to lack of any parental support she was forced to leave him in the care of our center.

VICTORIA NANOZI, 3

Victoria has lost both parents: her father died in a car accident and her mother passed away 8 months after her birth due to HIV related illness. She was born with a physical disability: loss of motor function in her left arm and foot. She remained under the care of her poverty-stricken aunt who is an uneducated, unemployed, single mother to 6 children. She was later brought to the center.

MICHELLE NATABI, 3

Michelle lost both her parents to a motor accident at the age of 2. She was entrusted in the hands of her frail grandmother for a while. Unable to take care of her, her guardian recently left her with us.

SANYU NAKWANZ, 3

Sanyu’s mother left her with her grandmother, who was taking care of Sanyu’s sister and other grandchildren and thus was also unfit to provide for her. Both parents’ whereabouts are currently unknown. Sanyu is very shy, but smart and she is one of the few that does not go into confrontations with the rest of the abaana. She is easily amused – whenever you blow her a kiss or reach out a hand to tickle her she would start running and giggling.

JACKLINE WITONZE, 2

In order to remarry, Jackline’s mother abandoned her after her father passed away due to HIV related illness. Her grandmother left her at the care of Chrystal Children’s Center. Jackline is exhibiting serious signs of depression and abandonment issues. She does not get along with the rest of the children, partly because she does not like physical contact. However, the rest of the children are very patient with her and hold out their hands waiting for her to make the first step and touch them.

there are many other stories of the children at Chrystal orphanage .
please check out Michelle's blog one of the volunteers that spent time with the children there.
thanks Michelle you have done wonderful work .
