While on the front lines of the Black Lives Matter movement, I’ve been one of the prominent leaders for safety and security within the NYC community. I serve as a disaster responder, traveling across the US to respond to various crises faced by communities. I bring those skills to the community through centering consent and sharing knowledge amongst NYC activists.
Myself and others apply these skills in high risk, high stress situations time and time again throughout the ongoing fight for Black liberation. Continuing from 2020, I applied to the EMT program at La Guardia Community College to expand my knowledge and refine my skills for the front lines.
I was recently accepted to the program, and I encountered financial hardship while trying to cover tuition. The deadline for me to submit the initial tuition cost - $660 - is February 2nd.
This training has been a goal of mine for years now, and I would appreciate our community’s help achieving it. Please help me build professional and community capacity. Thanks and love, y’all!
