Moving cross country

Hello, my name is Darin. 13 years ago my wife and I moved to Oregon with our first daughter. We’ve made many memories, had a second daughter, purchased our first home, made many friends along the way and I was fortunate enough to start a career path with a wonderful company. However, it never truly felt like home. Fast forward to November of 2023, I took a leap of faith and found a job listing within my company which opened up a path back to Vermont. Where my first daughter spent the first year of her life, and where my wife and I married. On December 1st I received the job offer. I’m incredibly fortunate to be able to provide a means for us to move back home. Now comes the tricky part, due to budgeting my company is unable to assist with relocation from Oregon to Vermont, which I do not blame them for. But I’ve provided for my family on a single income for 13 years, raising two wonderful children and worked hard to provide them a happy childhood full of memories. Unfortunately that means we do not have a savings and navigating how to move us back home is proving to be tricky. As it stands, I will be moving ahead of my family. I will be spending 6 months away from my wife and my daughters so that I can secure a home for them to move to once they finish out their school years.
As many of you know, moving is expensive, moving across country is even more so. Quotes are starting at around $10,000 just for packing ourselves and having a trailer hauled. I’m realizing I’m needing to seek any help we can get to help us make this move easier and I’m humbly asking you for your generosity and good will.
All donations will go directly to paying the moving company so that our family can reunite sooner rather than later. Any additional donations above our goal will go to helping me fly back to my family and driving back home once we have secured housing. Anything helps and I greatly appreciate you taking time to read our story.
