Jeff Burt has been a Laidlaw and GG&C Bus Driver for over 25 years. He has driven many of our children to school, sporting events and even California University Students. He is adored by many kids and adults. More than a bus driver he is the brother of my boyfriend, a brother to me and father to Erin(Matt Piatt) and Christopher Burt(Morgan Neil) Grandfather to Gauge and Mallory Piatt
On 02/12/2018 Jeff was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, which is a form of blood cancer. This is not a curable cancer but manageable. This diagnosis has wrecked his body by causing multiple fractures on his spine and ribs. He has had many blood transfusions along with platelets and had only begun three treatments, when the unfortunate happened.
On 03/20/2018 Jeff fell ill and was lucky to be found alive by his daughter. He was semi conscious and had a body temp of 91 degrees and a blood sugar level of 21. He had gone into renal failure. He had endured a lengthy hospital stay, with many test, treatments and transfusions.
The difficulty has been expenses. Jeff has a very small portion of social security but was still working. In his 25 years of driving bus he has never missed till now. He has no work income coming in and has a long road ahead for recovery and treatment. Donations would greatly be appreciated so we can maintain his apartment for him to move back into along with medical bills.
Jeff is not one to ask for help. Matter of fact he is always doing for others. In the hospital he kept saying to nurses... "I'm Fine, I'm Fine!!"
Lets show our Prexie support and help my brother and friend out. Anything would be of great help.
