Help Bella Get the Care She Deserves

Our family is starting a GoFundMe for our dog Bella (Binky Boo). Bella turned 11 years old this year. She loves cuddling and even has stuffies she has cuddled and treated like pups over the years. She loves her daily morning and night walks, she loves to run around the yard doing laps as swift and quick as a bull, and she loves to crop dust people. She was raised with cats, so she has the funniest tendencies to rub against everything when she walks by or try to sit in the tiniest areas or on you like a lap dog lol.

We got Bella a little before we lost our grandma to her battle with cancer. A new puppy was a light in our days during that tough time, and she even made our grandma smile through everything she was going through. She helped us grieve, she kept us moving through life, and she kept that light of joy in our life with all the games of catch, tug of war, wrestling around together, watching her go crazy trying to catch the cat's laser toy on the ground, cuddling us, just looking so adorable. A man’s best friend really is a dog/animal. They’re just remarkable companions to have through everything.

Bella has grown up with us; she’s found her own personalities and likes and dislikes. She’s very well known to be a boujie dog lol. But through all our growing and hers, she has always been a huge emotional support. Every tear we’ve ever shed, she has run to us, sat down licking us and slightly wagging her tail, pushing her body into us until we calmed ourselves and felt better. A member of our family struggles emotionally and mentally every day, around the clock almost. Bella is there for every moment, to soothe them through every panic attack, to keep them company when they struggle with insomnia, to let them know they aren’t alone and she’s there with them, to offer endless emotional and physical comfort until they can pick themselves back up. She is a remarkable animal; she is so loving and caring.

Lately, Bella has not been doing well. She has not fully eaten her meals in a week, and she’s extremely lethargic. Her bottom gums are inflamed, and she will not close her mouth all the way. She breathes funny, and she doesn’t want to play anymore. We aren’t sure what this turnaround in her day-to-day behavior and decline in health is being caused by. But we are hoping to find out. We truly cannot afford a hefty vet bill at this time in our life, which is why we are putting our pride aside to reach out to our community, friends, and family for some help raising funds to get her examined and any tests run/medications she may need.

For some, we know they will tell us she’s just an animal and let it run its course. But that’s just heartbreaking, and we truly cannot. She has always been there helping us endlessly; we want to do the same for her. She is a big loving part of our family, and she deserves it!
