Sew the Curve Kamloops
Donación protegida
On March 23, 2020 twelve masks were dropped off in the mailbox of a health care worker. Within two weeks the Kamloops community had collectively sewn 2,282 masks for front-line workers (health care, seniors homes and service providers in public spaces). Today our goal is 10,000 masks for front-line workers (and other vulnerable people) in Kamloops & area. We are also working on filling a request for 600 scrub caps and uniform bags for RIH staff (for extra front-line protection and to help prevent COVID from going home with them).
Our FB group Sew the Curve Kamloops is 800+ members strong and growing every hour. Many sewers have exhausted their stashes of fabric, elastic, thread, and other supplies (and the supplies of their neighbours and friends). To keep this committed group of big-hearted sewers going we need to purchase and distribute more supplies. We are also putting together a modest website (www.SewtheCurve.com) to make our information and patterns available to those who are not on FB, and to make key information accessible outside the 13,500 posts and comments in our robust FB group.
All expenses will be tracked and made available upon request. Funds remaining at the end of this campaign (end date to be determined) will be donated to the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation. (Note: We will put aside $100 to throw an appreciation celebration for our sewers before we fork over the cash:)
Get a receipt for donations of $50 or more by giving to our fund via the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation here: www.rihfoundation.ca Please select DONATE NOW (green button upper right) and "COVID-19 response" in the default drop down box at the bottom of the form. Add "sew the curve" in the space available for a note.
Thank you - we are so grateful for your support.
