Jose Cortez Memorial Fund

Jose Cortez was an energetic, happy, vibrant person who was so full of life. His positive energy and contagious smile would raise your spirits and brighten any room. Jose was very generous with his time and always went out of his way to help others. Jose touched so many lives during his 45 years. We truly miss him.

On Saturday, January 9, 2016, we lost Jose Cortez due to complications of stomach cancer. He had only learned of his diagnosis 5 weeks earlier and was determined to fight so he could see his two older children finish their college education and his youngest daughter complete high school.

Jose leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife, Tania, his beloved daughters, Laura (22) and Emma (10), and his adored son, Calvin (20).

Jose and Tania were paying out-of-pocket for Laura and Calvin’s college tuition, and now without Jose’s income, assistance is needed to ensure that Jose’s dream lives on – his kids graduating from college. In lieu of flowers, we ask you to consider making a donation to help the family defray the cost of tuition.
