Hey everyone,
As most of you know by now, our sister and friend, Jenny Mayer, has recently been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. There are many stressors that come with this diagnosis- and the physical aspect is enough to bear. Our hope is to do what we can to help alleviate the financial burden.
Would you prayerfully consider helping us raise funds to cover her treatment?
If you haven't had a chance, please read her story below:
"This past Tuesday night as I was falling asleep my hand brushed across the left side of my chest and I felt something. That simple and accidental moment has change my whole life in an instant. A lump. After a series of Doctors visits, a mammogram, two ultrasounds, and a biopsy. I have cancer. This feels like an outer body experience. To wake up every morning to realize this isn’t a dream but my family’s true reality has been difficult, terrifying and unimaginable. I’m 36. I have 3 young kids. This can’t be happening. But it is. It’s happening and here we are.
Here are the things I know:
God is good and wants good and great things for me. He is faithful. He has a plan. This isn’t a death sentence. I’m not dying. He knows why and I don’t have to strive to know why cause he will reveal his plans for me when he sees fit. He loves me deeply. He doesn’t want this for me. He’s grieved by this. He loves me. That’s what I know.
What I don’t know.
Most everything else. Our fight begins this week with scans, more tests and putting a plan together for treatment. I don’t know what that looks like. I don’t have details but all of that will come. We are taking one moment at a time. We are grieving in some moments feeling weak and tremendously sad. In other moments we feel strong and ready to fight. Will you battle with us. Please pray. We will commit to sharing our story as we feel lead. We are not hiding. We will not back down. We are not overcome by fear. Satan is under our feet and God reigns on the throne. To him be the Glory.
What do we need?
1. Prayer. That is our biggest need. I think we’ve shaken Heaven with all the prayers lifted so far. Keep them coming. And thank you for continuing to support us in that way.
2. Finances. The way our insurance works we are looking at a deductible payment of close to $16,000. That will cover both this year and next years deductible. Our hope is to raise $20,000 in order to cover any incidentals such as medications, Gas to drive back and forth to appointments and cash for meals as needed through surgery and recovery. Also babysitting expenses during all needed treatments and hospital stays. It’s all a lot to process and think about but we believe this is nothing to God’s vast resources. Asking for financial help is hard but we believe if we can step out in faith we will see God work his miracles through those who want to help.
Thank you can’t even begin to express our gratitude. This has been humbling and faith building for us. I know my story is just beginning and my biggest prayer is that God can use it to bring others closer to his presence and He will get the Glory." - Jenny Mayer
