My 23 year old daughter needs Brain Surgery!

Donation protected

My daughter, Taja Marie James, is a very sweet and kind 23-year-old young lady who is currently working part-time and finishing her medical schooling to one day pursue her dreams of becoming a nurse. She has always had a big heart and has helped others through charity work and acts of kindness through community service for many years. She is ALWAYS trying to fulfill her calling from God in helping others. Her selflessness is really remarkable and a reflection of what genuine love for others looks like.

That's why it saddens me and breaks my heart even more to know that she is the one in need of help now due to no fault of her own. About eight months ago, I took Taja to the E.R. after she received an accidental eye and face injury while playing with her younger cousins. This prompted them to do an M.R.I. to ensure no concussion was sustained during the incident. Upon discharge, it was told to us that the mass on her brain had gotten bigger and a follow-up appointment with neurology was needed. My daughter and I both were left in disbelief, anger, and sadness as we had no prior knowledge that a mass was ever even found on her brain at all in the past.

This led to many doctor's appointments and finally test results we were both left heartbroken and devastated to hear. After discussing if there were any other alternatives, I was given some of the worst news a mother could hear: it was confirmed that brain surgery is needed and the cavernous hemangioma she has on her brain is past the point of treating with medication due to the size, placement of it, and the speed at which it is growing, putting her at risk for a stroke, brain bleeds, or rupturing. It is a strong possibility that she has been already having seizures the entire time.

So it's with a very heavy heart I am reaching out to all of my friends, family, and anyone who is willing to help, and I am humbly asking for help. This has taken a toll on us as we try to prepare for what's to come. Taja currently has her own place. The goal is to raise enough money to take care of her rent, bills, household items, any co-pays, or debt she may accumulate during her preparation and recovery period in an effort to make it a little easier for her and myself to focus on her surgery and recovery without the added stress of worrying about these things.

I am also asking for prayers from everyone that comes across this page. We are terrified but know that through God, anything is possible. So please pray for my daughter as we navigate through these hard times. Anything will help and be appreciated. Thank you all, we love you.
