My 9 year battle with Ulcerative Colitis

Hi my name is Ivana and I am reaching out to share my journey with everyone.

Over the past 9 years I have battled ulcerative colitis, a debilitating, inflammatory bowel disease, that drastically affected my life. Despite numerous treatments and hospital stays, my condition took a severe turn during a recent two month hospitalization where I was diagnosed with CMV colitis a virus that severely affected my body during this time.

I survived solely by IV nutrition while I was fighting for my life—resulting with the loss of my colon last August. Unfortunately, the removal of my colon took an immense toll on my health. I developed pyoderma gangrenosum, a rare skin condition that influenced a painful wound on my stomach.

As a result of these health challenges, I lost my job and have been unable to work for the past four months. The financial strain has become overwhelming, causing me to fall behind on my rent, medical bills and the depletion of savings.

My journey has been one of resilience and determination! Despite the setbacks, I refuse to let these circumstances define me or hold me back.

I am actively seeking employment opportunities that align with my abilities and accommodate my health needs. However—the road to recovery and stability is challenging and I find myself in need of support during this transitional period.
