This Go-Fund-Me is for my Aunt.

My Aunt Lucy is a very special person in my life, actually to so many people as well and some even from other countries. We were all quite shocked when she quietly informed us in 2016 that she had a common type of cancer, 7 tumours in her throat that had been diagnosed a year prior and this extraordinary woman had refused to tell anyone and refused to use conventional medicine. Why? Because that is my Aunt!!

• She has always thrived in adversity, always finding a way… she has always been a fighter.

• At 19, she survived a near fatal vehicle crash – it could have taken her life.

• She knew that a recent, serious ailment had compromised her immune system and set her up for the possibility of a very, negative outcome if she took the oncologist’s advice.

• She knew that the invasive nature of conventional cancer treatment would leave her helpless in her own home as there was no one to care for her on a daily basis and homecare was unaffordable.

• She knew it would have certainly caused an early demise.

She immigrated from Barbados to Canada in the 70’s, returning in 2000 with a view to retiring there and was soon working with a company that needed modernization. This involved a lot of international travel.

• February 2012, on a working trip, she picked up a nasty virus, became quite ill and was never able to return to work. It also created a host of serious issues with her digestive system.

• July 2013, she returned to Canada seeking medical help. Many tests, no answers. She met with a Naturopathic Dr. who helped her. She was started on an intravenous therapy which was very costly and not covered by any insurance plan. This was the start of the drain on her resources. BUT it was working extremely well!

• September 2014, she returned to Canada for two special events, but her health was still not even at 85%, so she decided to see other Doctors. She needs answers - more tests followed.

• April 2015, the household has a gastric bug. Everyone recovered, but she was still NOT RIGHT!

• June 2015 she was diagnosed -- T2 diabetic!

• July 2015 She receives another diagnosis - CANCER!!

• She decided that she would seek out the best of the best in natural, alternative cancer treatments. These treatments have been extremely successful for many years.

• March 2019 – December 2022 Covid19 is upon us. Our government mandated vaccines. Her doctors are fearful because they are not sure how patients with cancer, like her, will react to these vaccines. Her immune system is already seriously compromised and her treatment is non-chemical and entirely alternative. To treat this cancer she has never had any chemical treatments, no chemotherapy, surgery or radiation, but out of fear for the virus, she takes all 5 of the required vaccines.

• May 2022. An ultrasound – tumours are hardly visible – only 3 of the original 7 remain. Cancer has taken a ‘walk forward’ everything is extremely positive. Now she needs some very aggressive alternative treatment to really knock it into regression.

• December 2022 the last (of 5) CoVID19 vaccinations. To further protect her through the pandemic, her Dr. wants to do something, again alternative but a bit more aggressive, (she cannot afford it.) Financial assistance for these new cancer treatments are absolutely necessary, but she has exhausted her savings with her treatments.

She noticed a lump developing in her throat and several smaller bumps under her chin on the right side. More tests ..NOTHING!!!!! This was unusual, a CT scan was performed. It revealed a large mass in her neck. A FNA was immediate, the results confirmed her cancer. She began a course of alternative and natural medicines which not only stopped the tumour’s metastasis to other parts of her body, but also stunted their growth immediately.

But now her savings are exhausted, and the necessary alternative and natural medicines are still not covered.

• January 2023, she got Pneumonia and was treated. Down for 6 weeks.

• March 2023, she noticed a throbbing sensation on the inside of her right jaw and a strong inner ear pain .. that remains today.

The tumors are suddenly, rapidly growing and changing now - the one in the right side of her throat that was barely visible is now clearly visible and growing. She noticed some bleeding in her mouth on the same side if she accidentally touches it with her toothbrush, if she throws up or swallows something a bit tough. These bleedings have since escalated. So, she consults her Dr. and he because of her history, he wants results quickly recommends a CT scan, as soon a possible.

This finally happens in November - results were shared at the end of November. No one can explain why there has been a complete reversal of the cancer. All the progress seen in the past six years is gone. The tumors are now becoming more aggressive.

I am sure that we all know someone who has had an illness that our doctors cannot seem to diagnose. Test after test, Dr after Dr. with no solution in sight.

I cannot stress how important it is that she needs to be treated as soon as possible.
