Help support Aurora’s recovery

Hi, my name is Mariam. I am a senior at Temple University.
I woke up on Monday morning, September 23, to the roof door of my apartment wide open. My roommates and I had just moved into this apartment, so we were unaware that the door was broken and could be pushed open by strong winds.
When I noticed the door was open, I immediately went outside to see if my cat got out. I looked all around the apartment, and my cat, Aurora, was nowhere to be found. I went to search outside and found her bleeding under a car. Presumably, she jumped or fell off the roof. She was bleeding very badly and wasn’t able to walk, so I rushed her over to the hospital.
When she arrived, she needed to have an emergency surgery to remove air that was trapped outside her lung. After further examination, X-rays, and CT scans, they discovered she had cracked open her hard palate (roof of her mouth) going all the way down her throat, which would need surgery to be closed. They also found that her jaw was dislocated, and she needed to remove one of her canine teeth that broke during her fall. They also discovered she had 3 fractured ribs and fractures in both her right and left shoulder.
We are fundraising to cover the extensive medical bills for Aurora's surgeries and treatments.
Aurora is not just a pet; she is a beloved member of our family, and we want to do everything we can to help her recover.
