My baby was killed while I was at work please help

I am trying to raise help for lawyer fee’s against my apartment complex for negligence resulting in my dog’s death on the 1/23/2024. CURRENT RETAINER FEE TO BEGIN MY CASE IS $500. I was at work and my leasing office at my complex had called me saying it was an accident with my dog. They said BGE had to turn off the gas at the apartments and the maintenance people had to come in each apartment unit to relight the gas pilots and they left the main door propped open and my door. They said my dog ran out ( which he NEVER runs out he’ll just go near my room) and the maintenance guy had chased him trying to get him back to my apartment and he ran and got hit by a car. THEY DID NOT NOTIFY ME AT ALL!!! No EMAIL NO LETTER NO TEXT ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! They always normally tell us when they need to come into the apartments. Me and my vet that I work with arrived there and they had put his body into a box and his nose and mouth were all bloody. The property manager said she will contact me because they are to talk to their higher ups in corporate. This was pure negligence and can could’ve been prevented if someone would’ve just communicate with me before hand. Then there’s no where in my lease that says it’s okay to come into an apartment without authorization or a notice only if there’s an emergency but this was not an emergency. They are also required to send at least a 24 hour notice and that was not as well. I am completely devastated..my dog was supposed to grow with age with me just for his life to be tragically cut at the age of 3, my dog has helped me get through some of the darkest times of my life when I literally had no one. I want complete justice for my dog and I won’t stop till I get it. My leasing office property manager has still yet to contact me about this and it’s completely triggering. I also live across the street where he was killed and it makes me sick to my stomach stepping outside everyday see the place my dog was killed. Anything is appreciated, my world has been completely ruined. Please share!!!
