My beloved Vehicle is gone. Help me afford another.

At the end of March 2024, my beloved Vehicle was stolen.

In late 2022 I bought a Sunseeker Fat Tad CXS. It's an electric recumbent tricycle, with one drive wheel in the back and two wheels up front for steering. I'd customized it with electric pedal assist, and after receiving it, I'd further modified it with a locking toolbox, visibility flag, and extra head and tail lights. I'd jokingly dubbed it "The Vehicle," because something so unusual really deserved a label that further made it defy description.

I'm 37 and don't have a car or driver's license, so my Vehicle was my ticket to the world. For roughly half a year I rode it to work (before I quit my job due to stress). Even after that, I still took The Vehicle out at least once a week to stretch my legs, broaden my horizons (life in suburbia is so isolating otherwise), and get some actual exercise in my life.

One night, someone discovered where I was keeping my Vehicle locked up, and took a pair of boltcutters to it. I only know this because they forgot them on our lawn on the way out. We immediately started a case with the local police, but beyond being told the case number, I've heard nothing from the police ever since. My Vehicle is gone.

Because I'm out of work, I am unable to afford to replace my Vehicle with an identical one - especially since the insurance payout was not really anywhere close to what I paid for it (due to some nonsense about deductibles and market depreciation). Getting an identical Vehicle would cost me about $5,000.

I can't exactly ask people to give me a job (at least, not when my writing and graphic design skills are being replaced wholesale with AI bots), but I feel it's time I asked for help. I want my ticket to the world back. I want to get out of the house again. There are things I want to do that I'd rather not have to beg for car rides to do. Your money will go directly into purchasing a new Vehicle for me, one that I will love forever and ever, and most importantly, not get stolen again. (I can't believe someone would just do that.)
