My BFF needs 2 Craniotomies!

Hi, my name is Ginger and Dawn is my very best friend in the whole world. She has been struggling with fluid draining out of her ears and clogging them up for years, but it wasn't until recently that the situation got worse and her specialists were able to determine what was really going on with her.

It turns out that she has three encephaloceles (Encephalocele is a condition in which a gap in the bone of the skull allows the brain to push through and possibly leak cerebrospinal fluid) and was caused by IIH (Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension). She will need two craniotomies performed to fix the encephaloceles.

She and her husband are both self-employed and she has been unable to work for over a month. This is very important to me because her quality of life has been drastically impacted as her head hurts most of the time, she gets splitting headaches, has pressure in her head constantly, the leakage from her ears is actually brain fluid and she gets what she calls brain squeezes that just takes everything out of her. I really want to see my best friend feeling good again and enjoying life!!!

She does have insurance and it will cover the hospital and the neurosurgeon but not the ENT/Neurotologist. His fee will be $4,636.00 for each surgery and he is the only ENT/Neurotologist in the area that can perform these surgeries. So this is what we are raising the funds for is to cover the ENT/Neurotologist costs for both surgeries. Her first craniotomy surgery is scheduled for September 13th and she has to have the $4,636.00 paid to him by August 31st.
