Daniel Wilburn My brave hero

Hi my name is Becky. I am Daniels mother. I’m not comfortable doing this but it’s already gotten hard.

Daniel was in horrible accident on 9/20/2023 in Atlanta Ga. And flown to Grady Hospital burn unit.

I will be traveling weekly from Chattanooga Tn for all Daniels appointments. He was released from the hospital a week after the accident.

Daniel has a long road to recovery with daily cleansing and bandage changes.

if not done properly he stands a high chance of infections. Please pray that he recovers without infections.

Daniel was talking to a potential customer about a roof replacement.

The homeowner was called back inside. Daniel had seen flames coming out of the kitchen.

Daniel ran inside. Someone had sprayed water on the grease fire.

Daniel took action and decided to try and carry the burning pot outside. The flames were burning his arms and he felt like his face was going to be burned.he couldn’t take the heat any longer.

.The grease along with the fire went onto his legs. Daniels legs went up in flames.

He did remember to drop and he was trying to put the fire out on his legs.

Daniel was air lifted to Grady Hospital.

He under went surgery and had skin grafts.

He has 2nd and 3rd degree burns from the top of the legs down, front and back in various places.

Daniel has a long road to recovery. His medical expenses, along with not being able to work for a while are too much for Daniel to have to worry about. Daniel has no medical insurance.

Daniel has a kind heart and will do anything to help others.

Daniel put his life in danger to help a stranger but I am very proud of the man that he is.

He also has a lifetime friend or second mama out of this accident.

The homeowner has been very caring and is traumatized by this ordeal. I appreciate it if you can include her and Daniel in your prayers.

Any money collected will go towards Daniels medical and physical therapy and living expenses while going thru recovery.

I should add that homeowners ins is only $100,000.00 and says medical is $5,000.00. Not sure what that means.

his medical bills have already exceeded $200,000.00 so we know that insurance want even cover half, nor his living expenses and time off work.

we haven’t gotten the air lift bill and I hear that will be upwards of $20,000.

I asked if he could get financial assistance.

the hospital said he would only qualify if he lived in one of two counties, which he doesn’t.

please help and keep sharing.

Daniel needs all the help he can get.
