In Loving Memory of Robertico Otero
August 10, 1979 – October 2, 2024
My name is Carlos Otero, the youngest of four siblings. Today, we are only three. Yesterday, at 1:45 am, my brother Robertico left this world, leaving behind not just memories, but two young children who are now in my care, both of whom are navigating life without proper immigration status. As their uncle, I’ve taken on the role of legal guardian, determined to provide them with the stability and love they need during this time.
As the youngest in my family, I’ve always tried to walk with a clear conscience, aiming to shine a light of love and healing for those around me. Now more than ever, I must hold on to that light, not only for myself but for my family.
Our father, Florencio, is 80 years old, and our mother is 70. I cannot begin to imagine the depth of their grief. Losing a child is unimaginable. My heart breaks for them, and all I can do is offer my support as we prepare to lay my brother to rest with the dignity and respect he deserves.
Unfortunately, I find myself in a difficult position financially, unable to refinance my home due to an unresolved civil case against Ford, which has tied up my assets. But in spite of these challenges, my focus remains on honoring Robertico’s memory and providing a sense of peace to my family in this time of sorrow.
May his soul rest in peace.
This will cover for cremation and possibly a trip to the ocean. We aren’t expecting a much expense as we are honestly, all in disbelief and please only donations if you can. Because we are all in this together struggling as well. Worldwide ❤️ thank you.
