MBKOM was started as a way of giving back what was given to me. It was started as a way of reaching out and helping others to come up out of the same destructive environment that I was held bondage to. I desire to help as many people as possible to understand that this life of addiction is not permanent. At the time, it only SEEMS hopeless. I recovered from a seemingly hopeless state of mind and body.”

To make the vision sustainable, the corporation was created to be a nonprofit foundation fueled by grants and charitable donations. MBKOM was granted 501c3 exemption status in November 2022 and continues to hold fundraising activities as well as seek both federal, state and private donations to fund its programming and administrative expenses.
