My child was a victim of a hit & run

Our 14 year old son Aj is blessed to be alive today. Last night he was on a ride out riding bikes with some new friends. He was with one other person at the time crossing the street. He looked both ways and no cars were coming. By the time he was halfway across the street he said the car lights were in his face. The car came out of nowhere going they say between 70-90 mph in a 30mph zone on Cement Hill rd & Camrose evading police. The impact sent him flying through the air knocking both his shoes off & knocking him unconscious. It was so loud people heard it & came from blocks away to help. It was a hit and run in a stolen car. They found the car with no driver. He has a broken right leg & broken ankle that broke all the way through & needs a cast & possible surgery. A fracture break on his left leg that needs a boot. Broken left thumb that needs a cast. Thank God there is no swelling or bleeding in his head & no concussion. No internal bleeding. His spine & neck are 100% ok. He has feeling in his whole body and can move & wiggle everything. God shielded my son from death or being left paralyzed. I thank Jesus I'm not burying my son. He's laughing & joking around talking about doing wheelies in a wheelchair for a few months. This kid is tough as nails. I know he will be determined to recover like he was determined to buy that bike. He is such a hard worker & good student. Over the last month he worked a ton of hours thoroughly cleaning the church with his grandma & doing any other odd jobs he could for money.  All of his days after school was watching videos about, talking about, obsessing over his own SE bike. When he finally earned enough money I took him to Rockville bike & he paid $820 for it on his own. He was so proud & wanted to ride it but it was raining that day so he took it in the house and sat on it for hours. Then 2 days later on 11/11/21 he asked to ride with friends. I have never let him leave our street on a bike because how people speed on their cellphones everywhere. I kept thinking about how all I did was ride bikes all around FF at his age. So I eventually said ok. Then not to his fault, someone with no regard for life, hits him at high speed and drives off leaving our baby boy in the street. My family is in no way looking for a handout. I could go buy him another se bike today. But since an overwhelming amount of ppl are asking what they can do I am creating this go fund me for a new bike and medical expenses. We believe that the bike community rallying around him and getting him the bike of his dreams, helmet, & everything bike related will raise his spirits & show him how much good people really care about him. The overwhelming love and support is the main thing that is getting him through these extremely difficult and painful days. Every time somebody calls or comments or gives, the smile on this kid's face is priceless! Thank you all for your prayers & kind words for our son AJ. God bless you

If you would like to give any amount towards Aj’s bike we thank you in advance.
