IT TAKES A VILLAGE

Malinda Celaya is an amazing woman who is battling cancer for the second time.   She is hard working and cares deeply about others.  She is the type of person who will give the shirt off of her back to help people in need. She worked throughout her first battle with cancer supporting her family while deathly ill. But the chemotherapy treatments made her so ill that she did miss a lot of work, suffered through rental evictions and being barely able to feed her children of which she had four at that time.  But that was five years ago and the cancer and her treatments took a great toll upon her health.  Even today, she carries the burden of supporting her son, transporting him to school, finding babysitters and working at the hospital. You see, Malinda has a young nine year old boy and is worried about being financially stable because of the cancer treatments she must undergo. Her current position as a custodian at the University Medical Center in Tucson is strenuous and physically demanding.   She plans on working with only  one day off after receiving Chemotherapy, she cannot miss much  work or she will not be able to make her rent, car and car insurance payments. If the pattern is similar, it will be very difficult for Malinda to keep her daily work schedule and will come up short on paying her bills.  Unfortunately, her adult family members are not financially stable enough to provide financial assistance for Malinda and her son Kelly.  The funding we are asking for has to do with daily finances, monthly bills in the likely hood that Malinda will not be able to make financial ends meet.
