My clinical trial at Moffitt!

I’m not sure what’s more surprising. The fact that I’ve been in cancer treatment for almost 10 years or the fact that I’ve never done a Go Fund Me. During the last 9.5 years, I've done a variety of chemotherapies and targeted therapies for my NSCLC (lung cancer) and despite the ups and downs and harsh side effects, I know I'm lucky to be alive. I've always held out hope that something new and promising would come along, and I finally have the opportunity to try a treatment completely different from what I've done in the past.

It's called TIL therapy (tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes). For those really interested, the official clinical trial name is "Clinical Trial of CD40L-Augmented TIL for Patients With EGFR, ALK, ROS1 or HER2-Driven NSCLC." The idea is to augment and replicate T-cells found in your tumor so that your immune system will recognize the cancer and ideally destroy it. It's located in Tampa, FL at Moffitt.

I am beyond excited to try something new even if it is more intense than any treatment I've had before. The trial will include some in-patient treatment and several trips to Moffitt, including a month-long stay starting in January. As you can imagine, the expenses rack up pretty quickly between airfare, hotels, car rentals, meals, and copays. Hence my ask for help if you're able to.
