MY DAD IS UNCONSCIOUS AND IN CRITICAL CONDITION
Donation protected
My name is Allison Barber. I am the oldest daughter of an amazing, caring,
dependable, and adventure loving father, Brandon Rhett Barber. My dad was recently run over by a truck while on a bike ride with his fiance and their 2 year old daughter in Jesup Ga.
I am creating this GoFundMe page to help out with hospital bills, home mortgage and related expenses. I am currently taking care of my 2 younger sisters and his fiancee, who are extremely traumatized from witnessing this horrific event.
My father has always been my rock. He's helped me out in the hardest times
of my life. He was a young parent and had me at 18. He has always worked hard to
try and provide everything we need in life. Unfortunately, on the evening of June 24th, my
father was riding his bicycle in our small neighborhood, and before he had the chance to get out of the way, a man speeding down the road hit him with his truck. His fiancee and little girl escaped injury by only inches. The man immediately left the scene and stated he was going for help. He never returned or called for emergency help. He left my father in a pool of blood, face down, unconscious, in the middle of the road. The man responsible has still not been found.
My father was life-flighted to Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, Ga. He is in critical but stable condition. He is suffering from brain bleeding, fractured vertebrae, broken ribs, road rash and severe trauma to his face.
Dad works on the computer as a web designer. That is his only means of income. Now, with these injuries to his brain, we are facing the unknown. It is causing an enormous amount of stress on me and my 9 month old little girl, taking care of myself, my daughter, and my sisters.
He is making very small steps towards improvement, like opening his eye but not consistently making eye contact with us. When I was able to go into the critical care area with him, he heard my voice and opened his eye. We may have made eye contact for a brief second, and I saw a tear roll down his cheek, so I just know my daddy is in there.
We just have to continue to pray to God above and stand strong for him in his hardest time.
Having faith in our good Lord above that he will continue making little steps in the right direction until he has recovered and is able to come home and be with family.
I humbly ask you, please include my father in your prayers that he makes a full recovery,
Thank you so much
