Help My Dad Move Into a New Home

Hello, my name is Amethyst and I am trying to raise funds to help my Dad move into a new home. Our family was hit hard by the pandemic. In 2020, my father got Covid early on, which lead to debilitating long-Covid symptoms that eventually lead to him to be hospitalized. While in hospital, we were shocked when we learned that he was also in the late stages of heart failure and would be in need of multiple procedures and close medical monitoring in order to keep him alive. In the month after that diagnosis, we also suddenly lost our family pet of 29 years who was the third member of our family, and our cousin Alex who was one of my Dad's closest friends, just a few months later. Both of these losses were huge emotional blows that additionally required us to make end of life decisions for them both, and sort out our cousins's affairs.

All the while during this time, he was living with the precarious situation of losing his lease because his landlord wanted to move their own family member into his apartment. Following several years of an amicable relationship with his landlord after their family member found other housing, he has once again been issued a notice to move by the end of the year, now that the apartment is needed again.

The timing of this 60 day notice is made even more difficult due to the holidays, both because we will be spending the holidays moving, but also because securing housing as everything slows down at the end of the year has proven challenging. Thankfully, we were able to find a place in the past few days, but the cost to move in is still an obstacle. The past few years have been difficult as my Dad has tried to resume working and caring for himself at a severely diminished capacity, due to his health condition. He is a local small business owner whose primary income is based on gig work, which has been hard to come by in the past few years and with the skyrocketing cost of living in San Diego, he is in need of support to cover the cost of moving and the deposit on a new apartment.

For my entire life, my Dad has sacrificed so much in order to take care of me as a devoted and involved single father. Please help me in supporting him secure a new home by the end of the year.
