My Father - Joseph A Boscarino (Brain Tumor)
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Drew Boscarino, as I hope this finds you well. Before reading, please remember to hold your loved ones tight this holiday season.
About two years ago, my half-brother David, went to sell his condo and move into a new home (our dads first child). He successfully moved but shortly after started experiencing strange symptoms. He was later diagnosed with a brain tumor - Glioblastoma, at the age of 50. David, the fighter that he is, was told he has 6 weeks max to live. He is now pushing 2+ years. His quality of life is hard, but he’s still with us - which is all that matters. We love him very much…
Two years later, my parents sold their house in Ramsey, NJ, where we lived for 20+ years. This past summer they moved to a condo in Mahwah, NJ as the longterm goal was to get to Florida & have our dad, Joe, retire. Coincidentally, few weeks after moving in, my father was diagnosed with a stroke. He had trouble with his legs and fell on one of his runs. As we began treating the situation like a stroke, the doctors learned the “spot" was growing. Sadly, we have recently discovered it is a brain tumor and looks to be Glioblastoma. Crazy enough, there is no genetic tie.
My incredible mother has been by my dad morning / night, working alongside him, and going back forth from Columbia in NYC. As my dad is in great hands, I want to do best by him. He was able to support my family and give us an an incredible life. Nothing means more to me than being able to help him through these tough times.
Again, the holidays can be very warming for some and hard for others. Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you,
DB
