My father needed emergency surgery! Please help!

UPDATE:  HE NEED ANOTHER SURGERY THIS WEEK due to issues with the esophagus.  A portion of it died so they will do surgery to remove that section and bring more out.  He also went by ambulance last night due to some bleeding.  It was a long night! 

On January 21 my loving father and best grandpa ever (my kids love him so much) was getting ready to rest and suddenly began having very severe stomach pain. It was very scary!

 

My brother called 911 immediately and when they arrived he was rushed to the Hospital!

 

He arrived, CT scans were done, and they rapidly discovered his stomach had risen and was literally behind his heart, he had a stomach hernia, and a hole in his stomach, not to mention covid. The entire staff was in shock. They called for immediate emergency surgery in the middle of the night! They called in the top heart surgeon at 3AM and every surgeon we spoke with said "this is very serious and there's a good chance you won't make it through this, but it's better than the alternative." Imagine hearing that with your father laying in the ER and you're on a video call. It was horrible.

 

We stayed optimistic. The entire night went by with no news except for periodic updates. Around 1030AM, 6 HOURS INTO SURGERY my brother called and said he made it through but the next 3 or 4 days would be critical.

 

Here we are! Day 6. He's a fighter just like his dad who once fell down an elevator shaft he was working on and survived!

 

My mom is very stressed and worried about how they're going to pay bills and cover all of the costs incurred. She's very upset. Of course we will be there to help her but this won't be cheap. They do have insurance but it will not cover everything plus living expenses and bills. He will have to go to UW- MADISON for further surgery to reconstruct and connect his esophagus back to his stomach when he's done recovering. It's a long road and be will do it! Any help is so greatly appreciated during is very difficult time for our family!
