My Friend Is Dying To Live

Donation protected
I want to introduce you to my best friend, Linda. She is strong, determined, devoted, loving and compassionate, No matter what is going on in her life , she is always there for you. She has a sparkling personality, with a marvelous sense of humor and an infectious laugh. Once you meet her, you’ll never forget her! She has the most giving heart that I’ve ever known. She’ll never let you down!!

Four years ago Linda, was plagued with a very rare form of neuropathy that covered her entire torso. The 24/7 pain was overwhelming.   She also had a number of autoimmune diseases and with all of her suffering, she persevered working every day with a smile on her face. Three years ago, she was hospitalized and almost died. After 3 days in the ER, because the ICU was full, she was finally wheeled out on a bed, to a room. As she was passing the nurses station, she was cheered on by the doctors, nurses, and staff.

As a result of her hospitalization, Linda was blessed with a great team of doctors. She had been placed on infusions for her immune system before being hospitalized, and months later, they started IVIG infusions for her nerve pain. It took months, but the nerve pain was finally under control. A major part of this treatment is not covered and costs thousands of dollars monthly.

Her blood work was not good. Linda was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, Waldenstrom Magroglobulinemia. It is made up of 2 types of cancer, Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and Multiple Myeloma.   There are only 2600 cases diagnosed a year and there is no cure.

Linda is handling her disease with grace and humor. She always says, “It doesn’t  matter how I feel, it just matters how I look, and I look MAHVELOUS!!”  But, her financial problems are KILLING her.   She has depleted all of her savings and retirement accounts, trying to keep up with the monthly expenses.  After paying her rent and living expenses, there is very little money left over to cover her bi-weekly transfusions (that cost her thousands of dollars a month). She also has additional medical costs; including tests, doctors, procedures, pharmacy costs and insurance. The financial stress is destroying her. They say that stress is a KILLER! Linda is a consultant and continues to work. Her clients have no idea of the seriousness of her illness. As a consultant, Linda does not have any paid sick days, losing income every time she has to have any medical tests or appointments. She is about to start chemo.

Linda deserves a chance to face whatever future she has without these all consuming money issues. Even with all of her spirit and perseverance, the financial stress is DESTROYING her. I can’t bear to see her privately suffer this way. Linda continues to make a difference in so many lives. HELP me make a difference in her life.  Please tell your friends and family about Linda. Post her story on Facebook and twitter. We must spread the word. If we join together, we can give her a chance to live without financial anxiety, as she begins her next level of treatment.

It doesn't matter how much you give, any amount will help. If you can't make a donation, please tell your friends and family and spread the word.

Thank you for all that you can give to help keep Linda alive.
