My friend Stacey is fighting cancer
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Patti, and I am fundraising for a very good friend of mine, Stacey.
Stacey was initially diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer in 1999 when she was just 33. Since that time, she’s faced several challenges with breast cancer, including mastectomies, reconstructive surgery, having her ovaries removed and, more recently, her lungs collapsing twice.
In Late August of this year, she was taken to the ER because she couldn’t breathe. The diagnosis was a collapsed lung, and after biopsying the fluid, she found out in September that her cancer had metastasized. In October, her lung almost completely collapsed again, and she underwent surgery which left her with a catheter in her stomach for 6 weeks to drain her lung. Her doctors at Dartmouth are hopeful that her lung will not collapse again.
Stacey was told that she is no longer curable but manageable through hormone therapy drugs. She is currently on 2 chemo drugs that she takes daily. In addition to the hormone therapy, she is seeing a functional oncology doctor who has her on several supplements and acupuncture. She is, unfortunately, unable to work due to the effects of the catheter, breathing issues and side effects from the therapy.
Stacey is one of the hardest-working people that I have ever known. She has the biggest heart and would give anything to help someone out. She is staying positive and very hopeful.
With her treatments, she is focusing on her health and well-being. At this time, if there is any way that you could help with her out-of-pocket medical expenses, traveling expenses and everyday expenses that she cannot pay, I would be so grateful.
