My best friend was just paralyzed, let's help him
Donation protected
Max Carter has been my son's best friend since the 5th grade. They are in their junior year now, and five weeks ago, Max suffered a hockey injury that left him paralyzed.
This life-changing injury has obviously created many needs for the Carter family! One of the immediate needs is to remodel parts of their house to better accommodate Max and his wheelchair. I reached out to the family and offered to help plan these changes. After several meetings the plan has been set. The family is adding a stairlift to the upstairs where Max can use his old room and be across the hall from his parents. We are renovating the shared bathroom with a new shower, vanities, and flooring. We are installing new resilient flooring throughout the hallway and Max's room. We hope that they can makeover Max's room with a new bed and some state of the art electronics.
The Carters' have received some generous donations to help get the house projects started. Some of the material has been donated and skilled craftsman have volunteered their time, but more money is needed to offset all of the costs. We hope to raise additional money to help with this. We are trying to raise $10,000 to allow all the materials to be purchased and the whole project to be completed quickly.

Any money over the $10,000 will help the family with the many additional needs. We invite you to partner with us as we help the Carters' navigate these life changing circumstances. I know that they are so humbled by all of the support they have received. Brian and Kristan are both teachers in local schools with impeccable reputations. Brian became a teacher after serving in the Air Force. They are really great people and I know that they will use every bit of this to help Max to thrive. I have no doubt that Max will not let this stop him from achieving great things with his life.
