We all need a reason to believe. We'd like to smile maybe a little more. Come along. Let's go for a ride. It'll be... fun.
So many of us these days are running on empty. Tomorrow is so close and so far away. The world is on the brink of change and we don’t know what it is. We’d like a little less tension and anxiety. Crying is okay, but we’d like to smile maybe a little more. We want something familiar and comforting to hold on to. Something that we can relate to. Something that isn’t about everything and everyone being broken. We want heroes who could be us.
The Ambassador is a comfortable adventure in a world where excellence is expected, integrity and honor matter, trust is earned, wits matter more than firepower, friends are the best, everybody gets a seat at the table, and the good guys win most of the time. It crosses generations and cultures, East and West. It’s not the same and it is exactly the same. It will make you smile, cry a little, and smile again.
The Ambassador and her team don’t save the universe. They try to do good. Sometimes they succeed. Sometimes they fail. They are excellent at what they do. They are brilliant and humble, honest and kind. They are mostly regular, normal, outwardly average, incredibly interesting, quietly extraordinary people.
Channel 15 Radio dot com brings together a production company and an original, scripted radio drama that encourage us to talk with each other, to listen to what the other generations have to say, and to try to understand perspectives and languages that are not our own.
The ideas behind the show and the story aren’t new. Good friends, hope, how we pass on what we know are all well-told tales. We’ve been telling them for centuries. Most will be told again. Not quite the same way, not quite the same characters, not quite the same settings. They are about us.
Come with us?
We have recorded a promo. That went well. It took longer than expected. It turned out great. We have it syndicated on all the podcast networks with links on our web site https://channel15radio.com
So what’s next? Getting the first full episode recorded and sponsors to keep it going.
How can you help? Two ways.
Obviously, if you are able, please donate. Funds will go to keeping the lights on (literally), paying the team, and developing a network of podcasts, creatives, and artisans to build the new worlds and create the communities that will inhabit them.
The other way is by subscribing. As we look for sponsors, the more people who are listening, the more who are interested in listening, the better the chance we get a sponsor so we can produce a whole series based on Book 1 The Ambassador, not just a couple of shows. (Now available globally for Kindle and Print-on-demand)
And then, if that all goes well, we start work on the next series from Book 2 The Ambassador: At Ras’alhague. This is her origin story. It reveals how she met her four old friends, the training they went through, and a few more secrets about who they are.
Whatever funds we receive will help. It makes it easier for others to support us, too.
The show is going to happen. I’ve pretty much decided that. I’m stubborn, creative, and I really want to do this. I’ve gotten us this far. I’ve been in tech a long time. I’ve produced a few events. I’ve performed internationally and published more than a few books and article. So the only questions are when and how this show is going to happen. I’d like to have the first full episode ready by the end of this year, 2023 and be ready to move into 2024 with a full production schedule and a full company of actors. That’s what I’m looking for funding to be able to do. I also want to produce the show live online with recordings for later distribution. That is possible and I know which online service to talk to. Getting it set up needs time and money. I’m willing to give all the time I have. I don’t have money any more though. That’s why I’m here, asking for your help.
The opportunity to change what we are doing, to create a new vision for what we could have, and to focus on how to communicate with each other to solve the serious problems we face is limited. The planet is not going to wait.
We have to figure out something – together.
Before we can do that, we have to start talking with each other again.
And the more we build a network of creative, positive thinkers who may not have the answers but might have a few good questions, the better the chances we have of figuring out solutions for our global problems.
Help build that network?
Help us create a positive vision for who we can be and what our future might look like?
The promo we did could not have happened without the actors and engineer who brought the ideas I had to life. The show can’t happen without your support – to help us craft and refine the voices, the ideas, and the world that we want to live in.
Tell me a story
of princesses and kings
with swords and jewels
and magical things.
Where the heroes could be me
and the tales they tell
of worlds far away
carry me home.
Let’s go for a ride. It’ll be .... fun.
