My Gap Year With YWAM!
Donation protected
Y Eva? Y running? YWAM?!
Hello - I'm Eva and I'm on a gap year before university!
For the past few months I’ve been a volunteer intern at my church - Greyfriars, Reading. I’ve loved helping out on the youth team, with asylum seekers and refugees, and doing music in bands. I continue to co-lead the CU at Maiden Erlegh School where I finished A levels and I also enjoy playing football for Finchampstead Ladies FC.
From Jan-June 2025 I'll be volunteering abroad for 5 months with YWAM (Youth With A Mission)! YWAM is split into 2 phases: training and outreach. I’ll initially be in the city of Mazatlan, Mexico for 3 months; the second phase outreach location is presently yet to be confirmed.
I’m excited to serve in new cultural contexts, getting involved with a wide range of community projects working for social justice. Examples include volunteering in refugee camps and orphanages, running sports camps and music events, building houses and clean water supplies, and other ways to provide vital medical and social care...all whilst improving my Spanish!
Greyfriars is generously covering some of my costs, but I’d be really grateful for additional support too…
On Christmas Eve, I ran the Winter Woolly 10k. There’s no pressure but if you’d like to sponsor me, I’d be very grateful! Donations will go towards the cost of both training and outreach phases - housing, food, insurance, equipment, and travel expenses.
I plan on doing newsletters for my trip. If you’d like to receive an update every 4-8 weeks, just email me or drop me a text.
Thank you!
