Hello my friends, I am Khalil Al-Muhtaseb, 19 years old, from the Gaza Strip.

My family consists of 6 members, and I am the eldest brother, and all the responsibility falls on me.

My life before October 7th was beautiful and full of happy moments. As a senior high school student, I used to go with my best friend to the beach some days, and during my summer vacation I used to go to work in a café to make ends meet.

Then came the October 7th disaster and destroyed all my unfulfilled dreams, my home, and my unknown future that I tried to start building before the war.

We were treated with all meanings of humiliation. We were exposed to fear and saw the destruction of homes, mosques, and schools, and the hospitals being taken out of service as there was no adequate treatment for all those in the south of Gaza. In the end, our home was destroyed and with it all our childhood and beautiful memories with all my family members disappeared. For this reason, we were forced to move south. Now our last stop is the city of Deir al-Balah, where we are now living in a tent and suffering from the heat, humiliation, and pain. We are also struggling now to get food, clean water, the internet, and everything that keeps us alive.

But we did not stay well for long, after about two months While building our tent, an Israeli raid came next to our tent and destroyed the house that was next to us. One of my relatives was martyred and all my family members were injured. I was also slightly injured. My little sister was injured and suffered some burns on her body and is suffering from severe pain. I was injured in my shoulder and I am suffering a lot from severe pain to this day. It was the most terrifying day of my life. Our tent was destroyed and now we have no shelter or anything suitable for life. It was our only shelter. We tried to collect some things in order to set up a new tent. In order to buy some supplies for the tent, it costs a minimum of $1,000.
