My husband feels like he’s a burden

My amazing husband Maik just got out of the hospital after 11 days being treated for sepsis after his gall bladder ruptured. He had been in recently for another surgery related to having two different forms of cancer, and apparently his gall bladder couldn’t take it. He was so sick we had to rush him to the ER after the doctor got lab results back.
His gall bladder put so many toxins in his body that his kidney (he only has one from having the other one removed with cancer) was completely overwhelmed and he was in renal failure.
He had to have dialysis in the hospital to clean out the gall bladder infection, and is now doing out patient dialysis for at least a month, hopefully just to give his remaining kidney time to recover, but there’s always the worry that he might have to do this for longer.
He’s also going to probably need another surgery in the next few months to remove the gall bladder, but the doctors say he’s too weak to do it now.
We’re currently over $6000 in debt with out of pocket medical expenses (and we have *good* health insurance), and there’s only more to come.
He thinks he’s a burden to me and our kids, but he’s NOT. He’s the most amazing father and I couldn’t imagine doing this without him.
But I lost my job two years ago and had to take a pay cut to find a new one. He’s only been able to work part time since the cancer diagnosis. We were just getting back on our feet after the move, and now I’m getting a medical bill nearly every day. It’s like we just can’t catch a break. I don’t want him to be constantly thinking about the money, I want him to be working on getting well. So here I am, asking complete strangers to help our family.
