My Immersion to Sierra Leone
Donation protected
I'm Millie and next October, along with a group of students from school, I will be travelling to Sierra Leone in Africa to volunteer with the local communities. This involves living with the locals and hoping to help improve their standard of living.
My school has offered this opportunity to year 12 students for many years and each trip has been well received and of a great benefit to the communities. We will be taking resources and running activities and lessons for the African people, whose opportunities couldn't be more different from ours.
The money that I am trying to raise will be used to cover the costs of transport, accommodation but most importantly it will allow us to buy and deliver resources. Ultimately, our aim is to reduce the unimaginable development gap and the inequality faced by many in Sierra Leone.
Although travelling to the developing world may not appeal to everyone, I am extremely grateful for this opportunity and I'm sure this experiences will motivate me to aid these communities further, as their luxuries are our basics.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post and I would be grateful for any donation.
