My International Table Tennis Journey

Hi there! My name is Alex Averin.

Many of you may know me as an LYTTC and PingPod National Coach - but not so many really know me as an athlete.

After finishing school in May 2022, I decided to pursue table tennis full-time. This has been a dream of mine for so long, but a dream very difficult to follow on my own in the US.

2022 was a very difficult year for me, both physically and mentally, as I dealt with a lot of hardship within my family and personal life. Despite that, I’ve kept doing what I love most and balancing my time in training others with any time I have for my own training.

I truly believe that I could achieve a lot more if I had the chance to try. A lack of funding and support should not be the reason athletes don’t become the best versions of themselves, and unfortunately right now the US doesn’t have much support for table tennis. Even though I have not been as fortunate in my younger days of training, I hope that I can make up for it now!

So, for any friends, families, acquaintances, clubs and communities who know me and about my journey, I’d greatly appreciate if you can share this journey with me and help support me in any way.

All donations will be used towards training, travel, competitions and equipment.
