My journey to fix a vikingship
Donation protected
Hi everyone!
Welcome to my humble abode.
Some background:
My name is Anders, and I’m a member of a viking reenactment association in the beautiful county of Jämtland.
The association has recently given me the responsibility for repairs and the likes to our longship, Hrafn, that is roughly 14m and has been used for mostly sailing and sometimes promoting the club.
The ship, how great and inspiring it may be, is in need of repairs unfortunately.
Because of the lack of general expertise and know-how in the ways of restoring ships in our association, I decided to start my journey to enlightenment and get an education in how to build boats and ships.
I took a deep breath and found a two year long educational course to get my qualifications just outside of Södertälje.
The issue at hand:
So, here I am, one year done, soon starting on my second year at the school.
But it may seem, that all my hard work may have been in vain!
What I didn’t take into consideration is the fact that CSN wouldn’t give me the full last term.
It came as a great surprise from nowhere this summer, and I assure you, I like surprises as long as they are pleasant.
So you could say that I’m in a bit of a bind, suddenly blindsided by the notification that I won’t be able to get it subsidized by CSN the last four months of the program.
I’ve searched high and low for a way out of this, but without a secret great great auntie/uncle's death and an inheritance, I’ve seem to have come to a full stop in my journey to repair our ship.
What I need:
As a last resort before giving up, I thought that I would at least try to give it a go and set up a gofundme.
I would be delighted if I could get help so that I can finish my education and be able to take care of our pride and ship. It has been a focal point for our association for many years, and it would be delightful if it can be restored to its former glory
