My Limp Just Wasn't Getting Better

Hi there, my name is Naumi (pronounced Naw-Me), and I’ve already been through quite a bit for a little kitten. My story started in the strangest way. I was looking for warmth, and I ended up somewhere I shouldn’t have—up inside a truck’s engine. The next thing I knew, the truck was moving, and I eventually fell out, still smelling like icky engine grease. I tried to get up, but I had trouble with my back leg, I was so scared and in so much pain.

A kind woman spotted me on the road and ran over to help. I was so confused and frightened, especially when her big dog came up to me, sniffing and curious. But the lady quickly put her dog inside and gently picked me up, talking softly to calm me down. She took me to the Pet Patrol sanctuary, where I was given a cozy place to rest. I was still limping, but everyone hoped it was just a sprain.

After a while, my limp just wasn’t getting any better. So, they took me to the vet, and after looking at some pictures of my leg, she told me my bone was actually broken—right at the top where it fits into my hip. She said the only way to help me heal is to do a special surgery where they take out that broken piece. Over time, the muscles in my leg will grow strong and make their own kind of joint, like how rabbits' legs work!

It’s going to be a long journey for me, and now I’m just waiting for my turn to have the surgery as soon as the vet can fit me in. I can’t wait to feel better and finally run and play without pain. I’m so grateful to be safe now, but I need some help to make my leg better. Could you help me take this next step to a pain-free life? My little paws are crossed, hoping for kindness.
