My little brother, Freddie Jackson Jr.

I never thought I would be doing this. The importance of Life Insurance while living is just becoming known but to not have it in death is crippling. With that being said, my little brother did not have life insurance nor a savings. I am saddened to not be able to find his travel arrangements from San Diego, California back to Detroit, Michigan.

two weeks ago I received a Certified letter in the mail stating that I may be a possible relative to Freddie Lee Jackson Jr. A 41 year old male was found unresponsive Downtown San Diego. He had been living in a tent on the streets and eating from a local soup kitchen. First, no I did not know he was living in the streets. Second, I have prayed for my little brother since the death of our mother in 1996 when he was 14 and very lost in a cycle of alcoholism and the system.

I am in shock. I feel very guilty for being able to do the simple things in life and push past some of the hereditary traits we were born with. I want to help him get back to Michigan. I want to see him. I need to see him. The medical examiners office in San Diego has been very accommodating and helpful with as much information as possible and keeping him from being taken by the state. He has been there since July 26th, 2023. I found out Sept 2nd.

If anyone want to leave a message or condolences that would be nice. If anyone has the means to help me get his body back to Michigan so I can have a service for him at Cederberg-Brietzke Funeral Home in Saginaw, Michigan where he has family from his Fathers side. Cost includes the service car and identification of remains.

Please help me give my brother an immediate burial and we can pray for him to be at peace. Thank you and please be safe out here in this world we were placed.
