My Livelihood Was Stolen...Please Help

Hi, my name is Adam and I'm a freelance filmmaker here in Sunnyside, Queens.
Last month, while I was out of town helping with my Dad as he recovers from a stroke, someone broke into my apartment. They pushed the A/C unit out of the window and crawled in, then went through drawers and cabinets looking for something valuable they could leave with unnoticed and easily pawn. There was no cash or jewelry, so they stole my camera and sound equipment. This was the camera with which I shot my first film, A Ghost Waits, as well as freelance gigs in New Haven, CT, Cincinnati, OH, and here in New York. The sound recorder was used for the freelance shoots, as well as the podcast I did with the Writers Room, "Speaking in a Silent Room."
There is, of course, huge sentimental value tied to these things, but you can't raise that on the internet! However, without these tools I am unable to make my living. I would love to make a video about this and tell you the whole story with visual aids, but unfortunately I can't because all of that was stolen.
I'm looking to raise $5500, so that I can replace the camera, lens, sound recorder, memory cards, batteries, and camera bag. The world obviously doesn't owe me anything, and depending on how far this campaign spreads, some of you might not even know me personally; I believe people are fundamentally neutral, they can be pushed to do good and pushed to do bad. My hope is that this story inspires you to do some good and help a fellow human in need.
Any help you can offer will be massively appreciated. Thank you so much for your time and attention. Have a good day, and be safe out there.
