My loving mom, Louise Temple
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Valerie. I am the daughter of Louise Temple. My mom had a rough last 2 months here on this earth. She overcame so much. Just one week ago on Sunday, we thought she was finally turning a corner and was getting better. Yes she was in the hospital for a DVT. Due to suddenly not being able to walk for the last two months and due to lack of care at the nursing home she was at, she ended up with a blood clot that went from mid-calf all the way up into the vena cava (above the stomach). She had the procedure Monday to clear the clot. Doctors were hopeful it would be successful though there was always a slight risk of bleeding. Monday night Mom wasn’t feeling well and threw up. The nurse thought it was simply due to the medications she had received to undergo the procedure. But sadly Tuesday morning she suffered a severe and unexpected brain bleed (which doctors feel may have been preceded by a stroke). Doctors described the damage as “catastrophic and irreversible” and would not recommend surgery as the damage was already done. They said Mom would never eat, swallow, or talk again. She would have trouble breathing and would be on a feeding tube for the rest of her life. Mom never wanted to live that way. Thursday night, with myself and her great granddaughter by her side, mom passed away peacefully at the age of 80.
Unfortunately for the family, Mom was always a very private person when it came to finances. She never shared any of that information with her husband (my dad) or anyone else for that matter. Mom lived her life as a devoted and loving mother and grandmother to many. That was her “job.” And dad served others for many years as a mechanic but due to his own health issues he has retired and is now struggling to make ends meet. Mom and Dad lived within their means with what little they had.
No one in the family was prepared for this, not Mom, not Dad, not us (the rest of the family). Mom was sure she’d outlive Dad and we would’ve thought the same thing. Everything happened so fast and so unexpectedly.
So here we sit worried about Dad and how he’s going to pay for Mom’s burial expenses. The last thing our family wants is for Dad to be in debt and struggling. It’s bad enough he has to learn how to do things financially that he has never had to do for the last 60 years.
All proceeds will go towards burial expenses. We are asking only to cover basic costs to give her a proper burial; funeral and memorial services and calling hours won’t be provided as they are not included in this amount. Please DO NOT send any further donations to the funeral home, any further donations made will be used to help my dad pay down debt and pay for upcoming bills or go to much needed remediation and repairs for their home. Thank you!

My Dad and the rest of our family thanks you from the bottom of our hearts for anything you can do to help.
