To the woman that raised me and did everything she could for me and my siblings. She always sacrificed so that we could have what we needed. And now she needs our help. On August 30th during a routine check up at the dentist X-rays showed a growth in her upper jaw of unknown origin. Fortunately she was quickly able to get in for scans and a biopsy. While the initial biopsy showed the growth as benign, the Dr says that the growth is atypical for the type of tumor and is still growing. So the Dr wants to remove it as soon as possible for further pathology.

The surgery is scheduled for November 17th and she will also need a week off work for recovery. She does not quite have enough PTO to cover that time.

Her out of pocket cost for the surgery and lost wages exceed 2000. The Dr is requiring that it be paid in full no later that November 16th (the day before the surgery)

She has applied for some resources but is still waiting to hear back and we know it will help but won't cover the majority of the costs.

This is an urgent and unexpected expense

and while we can't remove the stress and anxiety of this situation for her, we really want to do everything we can to help her get the funds together to cover the unexpected financial burden.
