My Mother needs a medical operation desperately!

My mother has been suffering from a Tarlov cyst for many years, with the last few years that it has wrapped around her spine. If it is not removed, she will be stuck in a wheel chair for the rest of her life sometime in the near future. Most Tarlov cysts are pretty much just an irritant, but the cyst has become locked in her spinal column. It NEEDS to be removed in the next few months or she could become crippled for the rest of her life. She suffers bad back pain and has been getting less and less mobile. Unfortunately, the operation is not covered by Medicare due to its rarity and my parents have to come up with $10,000 cash to pay the doctor “UP FRONT” just to schedule a set date for the operation, one of only two Doctors that will perform the operation in all of the USA.

My parents live on social security, and they just don’t have the money to pay it up front or even pay it later. It will also be a long drive from Northern PA to Dallas, Texas where the surgery will be done and she and a caretaker friend will require $2,500 dollars for a place to stay, transportation and food during her early recovery and care from the doctor the first month.

Can you please help my Mom!!! The $1,400 she gets a month from SS just will not stretch that far to have the money to get the help she needs permanently. The operation itself will cost $10,000 up front plus the estimated $2,500 for travel and a place to stay for a total of $12,500. Anything would be appreciated. I love my mother very much and it hurts me to see her in such pain. Thank you for anything you can contribute, it will be GREATLY appreciated!
